For referrers

Southern Heart welcomes referrals from specialist General Practitioners and other primary care providers for any symptoms related to the cardiovascular system. We also welcome referrals for ongoing management of previously diagnosed conditions.

Refer with confidence

Southern Heart is a well-established full service cardiology practice. We pride ourselves on our communication and patient care as well as our professional services. We take referrals for a specific test, or a cardiologist consultation with the patient. Our team of fully qualified sonographers and physiologists offer a full range of cardiovascular tests, from Dunedin, Queenstown, Cromwell, Gore and Invercargill. If you have referred for a test only, a Southern Heart cardiologist will report the test you have requested and send a letter along with the test report to you.

How to refer a patient

You can refer directly to us from your practice management system at Healthlink EDI: sthn72ht Alternatively, please email us a referral at office@southernheart.co.nz. Please ensure you state the name of the referring doctor and the practice, the phone number or Healthlink EDI, the patient’s name and date of birth, and clinical and contact details for the patient.
